LALG Textile Art Group
The Textile art group meet up on a monthly basis (usually the last Friday of the month), for a textile workshop. We focus mainly on decorative fabrics and explore related techniques.
Over the past few years, techniques we have covered include natural dyeing, marbling on fabric, hand embroidery, Sashiko stitch, Bojagi patchwork, rag weaving, braid making and fabric printing. We always welcome new members to join our small friendly group. Experience of textile crafts is not necessary, and everyone is invited to come along and try a meeting.
There is a small fee of £5 charged on the workshop day, to help cover room hire, materials & refreshments.
We are part of The Letchworth Arts & Leisure group (LALG). They are an organisation, run by volunteers with over 140 social and leisure groups in Hertfordshire and surrounding areas.
You are welcome to try a meeting and if you want to stay part of the group you will be required to become a member of LALG. Find out more here:
